"Emma delivered an inspiring INSET day based on Developing Confidence in Teaching Practical Art Skills. The session provided a clear and practical foundation to strengthen teachers' understanding of how artistic skills develop over time, and how to effectively evidence progress in art. It was engaging, well-structured, and highly relevant to classroom practice. Since the training, the quality of art across the school has been greatly improved. Children are excited and enthusiastic about their artwork, and teachers feel much more confident to plan and deliver high-quality lessons. Staff left feeling equipped with strategies they could implement straight away. Highly recommended".

"Emma worked as an artist practitioner delivering large 2D and 3D creative projects at our school. Her workshops were well managed and bursting with new ideas and materials. Her accompanying CPD training inspired staff to become more confident at developing their own high quality art planning that focused on development of skills and process based learning within our curriculum."

Writing & Research

MA Art Education, Culture & Practice, UCL (Dis)

My master's degree research and exhibition focused on the elevation of materials and their potential for learning in early years and primary school settings. Working with commonplace materials and objects found in schools I experimented with textiles, saltdough and printing, bringing my practice back to the classroom to raise the status of art education in everyday learning about the world. My research has led to workshops in SEND and mainstream schools, working with families and staff to create process based artwork.
